Gypsy has the honour of being literally the first ever Asryn Siberian Husky to be born and the first newborn puppy I ever held in my hand. She was the product of years of planning and dreams, of watching confirmation and movement of hundreds of dogs at shows and a lot of studying pedigree after pedigree after pedigree.
A daughter of our much loved Elle and my beautiful and much loved Dealer, this red and white girl always had great presence and attitude, stunningly clean and effortless movement, and wonderful front and rear angulation. She was a persistent significant presence within the Utility Group of SA for many years.
As a puppy she was the 2005 Royal Melbourne Show Best Puppy In Show. Gypsy is a real gem, both in confirmation, style and temperament. She is a once in a lifetime dog. Could we have wished for anything better upon which to build a kennels reputation and breeding hopes and plans.
In September 2007 Gypsy won BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW at the 20th Annual Championship Show of the Siberian Club of Victoria under breed specialist judge Mrs Janis Church-Stadler from the USA Gypsy also won BISS on the same day at the club's open show. Gypsy is litter sister to Ch. Asryn Arctic Connection.
Since then Gypsy become a multi all breeds Best In Show winner (with multiple BIS wins every year over a number of years). Gypsy was my first homebred Champion, my first homebred Best In Show winner, my first Speciality Best In Show winner and my first Supreme Champion. Gypsy’s son Striker (Grand Champion Asryn Lightening Strikes) is now really coming into his own in the show ring.
Gypsy has earned her retirement - just don’t tell her that. She still makes the occasional appearance in veteran’s classes; just to remind everyone how she still shines. But she has nothing left to prove and lives her life as a much loved family dog. Her pride of place is on Ashley’s bed. She will always be his and he will always be her’s.
In her last few years of showing alone she has won 34 Best In Groups, 16 Runner Up Best In Groups, 6 Best In Shows and 5 Runner Up Best In Shows.
